Unit 6: Factual Programme

Each student has researched, planned and filmed / edited their own short factual programme. Jamie Buckley - Mobile Phone Addiction - informative and entertaining documentary   Above - Jamie Buckley explains factual programmes, gives examples of techniques and appreciates legislation issues.  Tutor comments:   The factual programme that Jamie has produced meets the pass criteria, Jamie has participated in his documentary and introduces the growth of mobile phone use showing some basic research into he subject matter. He has selected subjects for interview but there is room for greater variety and the idea is quite short and lacks real narrative development.  Some shots are not in focus.  He has included additional footage (filmed and sourced images) to visually support the content of the narration.  Titles are used to introduce subjects. Unit 5: Editing

For the editing unit 2 tasks were set -  A test run to film a horror sequence that builds up tension inspired by an extract from The Shining (Stephen King) "It was not his daddy"  Students worked in groups to film footage and then worked independently using Adobe Premiere to edit the shots into a sequence. All students have selected their own television or film idea to direct.  This has involved planning, researching, filming and editing with a focus on how they have directed themselves and others to complete the project.
